Questions from Canterbury clients

Can you price remedial work in Canterbury from another company's report?

Yes. Send the report and we will price each line for your building in Canterbury, or revisit specific doors if the report lacks detail.

Can you check the doors from the corridor only?

Part of the check can be done from outside, but the self-closer and the inside face need access to the flat. Where we cannot get in we record what was checked and why the rest was not possible.

Who is responsible for a flat entrance fire door?

It depends on the lease, but since the Fire Safety Act 2021 the Fire Safety Order clearly covers flat entrance doors in multi-occupied residential buildings, so the responsible person must account for them in the fire risk assessment even where the leaseholder owns the door.

Which fire safety law applies in Canterbury?

Canterbury is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.
