Fire Door Replacement in Letchworth Garden City: questions

Do you work in occupied buildings in Letchworth Garden City?

Yes. Inspections and repairs in Letchworth Garden City can be carried out in occupied flats, schools, care homes and workplaces, with doors kept closable at all times.

How long does a replacement take?

Most single doorsets are replaced within a day, including making good. Doors are never left unable to close at the end of a working day.

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Letchworth Garden City?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Letchworth Garden City is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

When should a fire door be replaced rather than repaired?

When the leaf or frame is too damaged to repair within what its test evidence allows, when there is no evidence it is a fire door, or when the repair would cost more than a new doorset.
