Questions from Peterlee clients

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Peterlee?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Peterlee is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

How quickly can you inspect fire doors in Peterlee?

It depends on the number of doors and access. Tell us what you need and we will give you the earliest date when you call, and confirm it in writing.

How often should fire doors be maintained?

BS 9999 suggests fire doors are checked at least every six months, and more often in busy areas. In England, regulation 10 sets quarterly checks of communal doors in residential buildings over 11 metres. A contract sets the frequency for each building based on its use and risk.

Can one contract cover buildings across the country?

Yes. Multi-site contracts are scheduled by region and reported in one register.
