Ormskirk FAQs

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Ormskirk?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Ormskirk is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

Are cat flaps allowed in fire doors?

Not unless the flap is part of the door's tested design. A cat flap cut into a fire door, including many flat entrance doors, will normally make it non-compliant.

Do you work in occupied buildings in Ormskirk?

Yes. Inspections and repairs in Ormskirk can be carried out in occupied flats, schools, care homes and workplaces, with doors kept closable at all times.

Do letter plates on flat doors need to be fire-rated?

Yes, where the flat entrance door is a fire door. Fire-rated letter plates include intumescent liners that close the opening in a fire.
