Fire Door Hinges & Ironmongery in Islington: questions

Can I fit any lock to a fire door?

No. The lock must be suitable for fire doors and fitted within the size limits of the door's evidence, often with intumescent protection around the mortice.

Are cat flaps allowed in fire doors?

Not unless the flap is part of the door's tested design. A cat flap cut into a fire door, including many flat entrance doors, will normally make it non-compliant.

Which fire safety law applies in Islington?

Islington is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.

Can you price remedial work in Islington from another company's report?

Yes. Send the report and we will price each line for your building in Islington, or revisit specific doors if the report lacks detail.
