Fire Door Installation in Islington: questions

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Islington?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Islington is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

Can you fit a fire door into the existing frame?

Sometimes, if the frame is sound, compatible with the new leaf and the leaf's evidence allows it. Often a complete doorset is cheaper over the door's life and easier to evidence.

Do you work in occupied buildings in Islington?

Yes. Inspections and repairs in Islington can be carried out in occupied flats, schools, care homes and workplaces, with doors kept closable at all times.

What is the difference between a fire door and a fire doorset?

A fire door often means just the leaf. A doorset is the complete assembly, leaf, frame, seals and hardware, tested and supplied together. Doorsets remove much of the guesswork from installation and are usually the better choice for replacements.
