Fire doors for public sector & community buildings
Libraries, council offices, community centres and places of worship kept compliant on a budget.
Public and community buildings are often older, with a mix of original doors, upgraded doors and doors of unknown origin, maintained on tight budgets. A clear survey that separates must-do repairs from planned improvements helps spend money where it matters.
What do public sector & community buildings typically need?
- Surveys separating urgent from planned work
- Older and heritage doors assessed carefully
- Volunteer-friendly records and signage
- Fixed-price works within budget cycles

Questions we're asked
What is the difference between a fire door inspection and a survey?
An inspection records whether each door passes or fails. A survey goes further: it grades each defect, recommends repair, upgrade or replacement, and costs the work so you can budget.
Can the survey support a section 20 consultation?
Yes. The costed schedule gives a clear description of the proposed works and their budget, which you can use when consulting leaseholders. Formal consultation remains the landlord's responsibility.
Can you price remedial work from someone else's inspection report?
Yes. Send the report and we will price each line. If the report lacks the detail needed, such as gap readings or photos, we will say which doors need a quick revisit before we can price them.
Will the door still be a certified fire door after repair?
The aim of remedial work is to restore the door's original performance using compatible components and methods. Where a repair would go outside what the door's evidence supports, we will recommend replacement instead.
