Questions from Oadby clients

Which fire safety law applies in Oadby?

Oadby is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.

Do the checks apply in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland?

No. Regulation 10 is English law. Fire safety law elsewhere in the UK differs in scope, and many landlords and factors adopt the same quarterly routine as good practice.

How quickly can you inspect fire doors in Oadby?

It depends on the number of doors and access. Tell us what you need and we will give you the earliest date when you call, and confirm it in writing.

Does the person doing the check have to be certificated?

The government fact sheet says the responsible person should be able to do the basic checks themselves and that a specialist is not needed for them. Many responsible persons still outsource the checks to make sure they happen on time and are properly recorded.
