Questions from Felixstowe clients

Do you work in occupied buildings in Felixstowe?

Yes. Inspections and repairs in Felixstowe can be carried out in occupied flats, schools, care homes and workplaces, with doors kept closable at all times.

What if a leaseholder has fitted a non-fire-rated door?

The report flags it with photographs and the evidence available. The responsible person and fire risk assessor then decide on the action, which may include asking the leaseholder to replace it.

Can you check the doors from the corridor only?

Part of the check can be done from outside, but the self-closer and the inside face need access to the flat. Where we cannot get in we record what was checked and why the rest was not possible.

Which fire safety law applies in Felixstowe?

Felixstowe is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.
