Our fire stopping works cover the whole of Berkshire, across local authorities including Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, Wokingham.
Fire Stopping Around Doors: Fire stopping is the sealing of gaps and openings in fire-resisting walls and floors so fire and smoke cannot pass through. Around a fire door it mainly means the gap between the door frame and the wall, which must be sealed as well as the door itself.

Fire Stopping Around Doors in Berkshire: questions
Can you fire stop a whole building?
This service covers fire stopping around doors and nearby penetrations. Wider compartmentation surveys need a specialist survey, which we can arrange.
Is expanding foam acceptable around a fire door frame?
Only a fire-rated foam with evidence for that use and gap size. Ordinary expanding foam is not suitable. BS 8214:2026 lists acceptable approaches such as suitable mastics, foams and stone wool.
Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Berkshire?
Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Berkshire is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.
Do you cover the area around Berkshire?
Yes. As well as Berkshire itself we cover nearby towns including Reading, Slough and Bracknell.
