Fire Door Repairs in Evesham

From the WR11 district outwards, we cover Evesham and neighbouring towns such as Tewkesbury and Stratford-upon-Avon for fire door repairs.

A fire door repair fixes a specific fault on a fire door, such as a broken closer, missing seal, loose hinge or damaged edge, so the door can again close, latch and resist fire and smoke as it was designed to. We use the same method for buildings in Evesham.

Evesham FAQs

Do you work in occupied buildings in Evesham?

Yes. Inspections and repairs in Evesham can be carried out in occupied flats, schools, care homes and workplaces, with doors kept closable at all times.

Can you fill a large gap with extra intumescent strip?

Not as a general fix. Gaps outside tolerance are usually corrected by re-hanging, lipping or adjusting the frame, because oversized intumescent strips are not a substitute for a door that fits.

Which fire safety law applies in Evesham?

Evesham is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.

Can a damaged fire door be repaired or does it need replacing?

Many faults can be repaired: closers, hinges, seals, small edge damage and beads. Holes through the leaf, major splits, delamination or damage to the frame often mean the door should be replaced. We will tell you which applies and why.
