Responsible persons in Shrewsbury can book fire door installations with clear reports, useful photos and itemised prices.

Fire door installation is the supply and fitting of a fire-resisting door, ideally as a complete doorset of leaf, frame, seals and hardware, installed exactly as its test evidence and the manufacturer's instructions require, so the finished door performs as tested. Common questions in Shrewsbury

What is the difference between a fire door and a fire doorset?

A fire door often means just the leaf. A doorset is the complete assembly, leaf, frame, seals and hardware, tested and supplied together. Doorsets remove much of the guesswork from installation and are usually the better choice for replacements.

Can you fit a fire door into the existing frame?

Sometimes, if the frame is sound, compatible with the new leaf and the leaf's evidence allows it. Often a complete doorset is cheaper over the door's life and easier to evidence.

Which fire safety law applies in Shrewsbury?

Shrewsbury is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.

Do you work in occupied buildings in Shrewsbury?

Yes. Inspections and repairs in Shrewsbury can be carried out in occupied flats, schools, care homes and workplaces, with doors kept closable at all times.
