Questions from Newton Mearns clients

What is the difference between a fire door and a fire doorset?

A fire door often means just the leaf. A doorset is the complete assembly, leaf, frame, seals and hardware, tested and supplied together. Doorsets remove much of the guesswork from installation and are usually the better choice for replacements.

Do you cover the area around Newton Mearns?

Yes. As well as Newton Mearns itself we cover nearby towns including Paisley, Rutherglen and East Kilbride.

Do you provide paperwork?

Yes. You receive the product's certification or test evidence, an installation record and photographs for each door.

Does regulation 10 apply in Newton Mearns?

No. Newton Mearns is in Scotland, which has its own fire safety law. The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 cover workplaces, HMOs and other non-domestic premises; common parts of private blocks of flats are largely outside them.
