Questions from Birkenhead clients

Can you fit a fire door into the existing frame?

Sometimes, if the frame is sound, compatible with the new leaf and the leaf's evidence allows it. Often a complete doorset is cheaper over the door's life and easier to evidence.

Can you price remedial work in Birkenhead from another company's report?

Yes. Send the report and we will price each line for your building in Birkenhead, or revisit specific doors if the report lacks detail.

Which fire safety law applies in Birkenhead?

Birkenhead is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.

What do FD30 and FD60 mean?

They describe how long the door is designed to resist fire in a test: 30 or 60 minutes. An S after the rating, such as FD30S, means the door also controls the passage of cold smoke.
