Questions from Gosport clients

Do you cover the area around Gosport?

Yes. As well as Gosport itself we cover nearby towns including Portsmouth, Fareham and Ryde.

Which fire safety law applies in Gosport?

Gosport is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.

Can you fit a fire door into the existing frame?

Sometimes, if the frame is sound, compatible with the new leaf and the leaf's evidence allows it. Often a complete doorset is cheaper over the door's life and easier to evidence.

What do FD30 and FD60 mean?

They describe how long the door is designed to resist fire in a test: 30 or 60 minutes. An S after the rating, such as FD30S, means the door also controls the passage of cold smoke.
