Fire Door Installation in Dunfermline

Need a fire door installation in Dunfermline? Tell us the building and roughly how many doors, and we will confirm a fixed price before booking.

Fire door installation is the supply and fitting of a fire-resisting door, ideally as a complete doorset of leaf, frame, seals and hardware, installed exactly as its test evidence and the manufacturer's instructions require, so the finished door performs as tested. Dunfermline FAQs

Does regulation 10 apply in Dunfermline?

No. Dunfermline is in Scotland, which has its own fire safety law. The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 cover workplaces, HMOs and other non-domestic premises; common parts of private blocks of flats are largely outside them.

What do FD30 and FD60 mean?

They describe how long the door is designed to resist fire in a test: 30 or 60 minutes. An S after the rating, such as FD30S, means the door also controls the passage of cold smoke.

What is the difference between a fire door and a fire doorset?

A fire door often means just the leaf. A doorset is the complete assembly, leaf, frame, seals and hardware, tested and supplied together. Doorsets remove much of the guesswork from installation and are usually the better choice for replacements.

How quickly can you inspect fire doors in Dunfermline?

It depends on the number of doors and access. Tell us what you need and we will give you the earliest date when you call, and confirm it in writing.
