Questions from Southend-on-Sea clients

What is the difference between a fire door and a fire doorset?

A fire door often means just the leaf. A doorset is the complete assembly, leaf, frame, seals and hardware, tested and supplied together. Doorsets remove much of the guesswork from installation and are usually the better choice for replacements.

Which fire safety law applies in Southend-on-Sea?

Southend-on-Sea is in England, so the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, together with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for multi-occupied residential buildings.

Can you price remedial work in Southend-on-Sea from another company's report?

Yes. Send the report and we will price each line for your building in Southend-on-Sea, or revisit specific doors if the report lacks detail.

Can you fit a fire door into the existing frame?

Sometimes, if the frame is sound, compatible with the new leaf and the leaf's evidence allows it. Often a complete doorset is cheaper over the door's life and easier to evidence.
