Fire Door Installation in Hailsham

Whether it is a block of flats, a school or a care home in Hailsham, our fire door installations follow the same door-by-door method and report format.

Fire door installation is the supply and fitting of a fire-resisting door, ideally as a complete doorset of leaf, frame, seals and hardware, installed exactly as its test evidence and the manufacturer's instructions require, so the finished door performs as tested. We use the same method for buildings in Hailsham.

Questions from Hailsham clients

What is the difference between a fire door and a fire doorset?

A fire door often means just the leaf. A doorset is the complete assembly, leaf, frame, seals and hardware, tested and supplied together. Doorsets remove much of the guesswork from installation and are usually the better choice for replacements.

What do FD30 and FD60 mean?

They describe how long the door is designed to resist fire in a test: 30 or 60 minutes. An S after the rating, such as FD30S, means the door also controls the passage of cold smoke.

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Hailsham?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Hailsham is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

Do you work in occupied buildings in Hailsham?

Yes. Inspections and repairs in Hailsham can be carried out in occupied flats, schools, care homes and workplaces, with doors kept closable at all times.
