Fire Door Inspections in Andover

Whether it is a block of flats, a school or a care home in Andover, our fire door inspections follow the same door-by-door method and report format.

In short: a fire door inspection is a documented, door-by-door check that each fire door in a building will still hold back fire and smoke for its rated period. The inspector examines the leaf, frame, gaps, seals, hinges, closer, glazing, ironmongery and signage, records what passes and what fails, and photographs every defect.

Andover FAQs

Do you cover the area around Andover?

Yes. As well as Andover itself we cover nearby towns including Winchester, Newbury and Salisbury.

Will the inspection tell me whether a door is a genuine fire door?

It records the evidence available: labels, plugs, glazing marks, hardware markings and construction. Where there is no evidence of a fire rating, the report says so, so the fire risk assessor can decide what to do.

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Andover?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Andover is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

What happens if a door fails?

The report lists exactly which components failed and why. Each item is priced separately, so you can approve the urgent fixes first and plan the rest.
