Grimsby FAQs

Do letter plates on flat doors need to be fire-rated?

Yes, where the flat entrance door is a fire door. Fire-rated letter plates include intumescent liners that close the opening in a fire.

Can I fit any lock to a fire door?

No. The lock must be suitable for fire doors and fitted within the size limits of the door's evidence, often with intumescent protection around the mortice.

Can you price remedial work in Grimsby from another company's report?

Yes. Send the report and we will price each line for your building in Grimsby, or revisit specific doors if the report lacks detail.

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Grimsby?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Grimsby is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.
