Fire Door Hinges & Ironmongery in Leighton Buzzard

We provide fire door ironmongery repairs for buildings in Leighton Buzzard and the LU7 postcode district, from single doors to whole blocks and estates.

Fire door ironmongery is the hardware on a fire door, hinges, latches, locks, handles, closers, letter plates and spy holes, which must be suitable for use on fire doors so it does not create a weak point when the door is exposed to fire. We use the same method for buildings in Leighton Buzzard.

No. The lock must be suitable for fire doors and fitted within the size limits of the door's evidence, often with intumescent protection around the mortice.

How many hinges does a fire door need?

Most single-leaf fire doors use three hinges; taller or heavier leaves may need four. The door's test evidence specifies the number and type.
