Questions from Stretford clients

How quickly can you inspect fire doors in Stretford?

It depends on the number of doors and access. Tell us what you need and we will give you the earliest date when you call, and confirm it in writing.

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Stretford?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Stretford is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

How big can the gap under a fire door be?

It depends on the door's evidence. Doors without smoke control often allow a larger threshold gap, sometimes up to around 8 to 10 mm, while smoke control doors usually need 3 mm or less or a tested drop seal.

Why do gaps open up over time?

Hinges wear and drop, frames shrink or move, leaves warp, and doors are sometimes planed after flooring changes. Each needs a different repair.
