Fire Door Closer Repairs in Pimlico

Pimlico landlords, managing agents and facilities teams can book fire door closer repairs with straightforward reports and fixed prices.

A fire door closer is the self-closing device that pulls a fire door shut after it has been opened. If the closer cannot close the door fully into its frame and engage the latch, the door cannot hold back fire or smoke. We use the same method for buildings in Pimlico.

Fire Door Closer Repairs in Pimlico: questions

What closer does a fire door need?

A closer tested to BS EN 1154 with a power size suited to the door's width and weight, and evidence it can be used on the door type. Concealed closers need specific test evidence for the door.

Can fire doors be held open?

Only with a device designed to release the door automatically when the fire alarm sounds, such as an acoustic or alarm-linked electromagnetic hold-open. Wedges and hooks are not acceptable on fire doors.

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Pimlico?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Pimlico is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

Can you price remedial work in Pimlico from another company's report?

Yes. Send the report and we will price each line for your building in Pimlico, or revisit specific doors if the report lacks detail.
