Questions from Kingston upon Hull clients

What closer does a fire door need?

A closer tested to BS EN 1154 with a power size suited to the door's width and weight, and evidence it can be used on the door type. Concealed closers need specific test evidence for the door.

Does regulation 10 apply to buildings in Kingston upon Hull?

Yes, if the building is a multi-occupied residential building with storeys over 11 metres. Kingston upon Hull is in England, so the quarterly communal door checks and annual flat entrance door checks apply to those buildings.

Can fire doors be held open?

Only with a device designed to release the door automatically when the fire alarm sounds, such as an acoustic or alarm-linked electromagnetic hold-open. Wedges and hooks are not acceptable on fire doors.

Can you price remedial work in Kingston upon Hull from another company's report?

Yes. Send the report and we will price each line for your building in Kingston upon Hull, or revisit specific doors if the report lacks detail.
